Mary Kay Stands Behind Cosmetic Product Safety

Mary KayMary Kay, along with the association of Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD), has announced its support of the reintroduction of what was originally known as the Cosmetic Safety Amendments Act of 2012.

This proposed legislation would enhance the FDA’s ability to review ingredients in cosmetic products to maintain safety. It will force a uniform safety standard across the entire industry, protecting consumers and providing more transparency when it comes to ingredients.

Stronger federal legislation will set a clear standard for all cosmetic products and manufacturers. Mary Kay also stated in a press release that it takes pride in putting consumer health above all else. They would like to see these efforts improved with the passing of this legislation.
